A turning tool for a lathe is made from round bar (1) with a flat surface (2) extending over part of its length. This flat surface runs into a longitudinal groove (3) with holes (4, 5) in its base. Two or more triangular cutting edges (8) are each fixed by screws (9) to support plates (6, 7) being held in the longitudinal groove by screws (10). This tool enables the longitudinal distances between the cutting edges to be adjusted so that two or more internal grooves can be cut inside hollow workpieces at any desired distance apart.
