Ring seal for wheel support on axle housing - has rectangular cross=section clamped between pressure rings

A ring seal for sealing the spherical wheel support housing (2) at the end of the axle housing for either front- or wheel drive has the seal (6) clamped between pressure rings (11, 19) and with a profiled end lip (21) to slide over the spherical housing with steering movement of the wheels, or suspension movement. The ID of the seal is less than the OD of the sphere and its sealing lip is angled to seal tangentially to the sphere. The seal assembly is simple to set up and replace and prevents dust and grit from entering the wheel supports.
