The suction cleaning unit comprises a dirt extractor (10) which draws off the dirt from the suction bell (7) which is placed over the brake drum and a pump assembly (3) which can be used to spray either cleaning fluid or air into the suction bell via a spray lance (2). The dirt suction machine (10) ensures that the cleaning fluid is drawn off again for subsequent re-use by the pump once it has been filtered. A water tank (2) for the cleaning fluid can be connected to the suction unit.
