<p>Housing with upper and lower horizontal grids has bundles of vertical or inclined filaments gripped between the grids to act as layers for filtering particles from fluids passing transversely through the layers. At least one grid is deplaceable to tension during regeneration, the filaments held loosely during filtering. The filaments can be homogeneous or very in size and material to suit the contaminated fluid. Filters clean gases or liqs. in a wide range of heavy and light industry, e.g. mining, cement prodn., foodstuffs, fuel, lubricants. Regeneration is simpler, more effective and less frequent than for known types, e.g. with multiple fabric bags.</p> |
