<p>The coupling has a two-part coil former (5, 8) with independently-excited coils (6, 7) excited via slip rings (15). Pole pieces (4) are on one side and face the armature ring poles (3). A friction surface or teeth is located on the other side to engage the armature ring (9) which is pressed by return springs (12) against an end-stop plate (11) connected to the armature ring (1). The poles of the armature ring are embedded in conducting material so that they can be covered by a closed ring-shaped surface. The armature ring poles are made of a material with hysteresis.</p> |
