<p>Two rail profile sections converge at an acute angle, at junction points and crossovers. One of the rails is used as the main tip (11) extending over the whole length of the tip block (10), and centrally widened to accommodate the other rail as an auxiliary tip (12) which is tapered at the front. The two rails are welded together at the centre and front in a lengthways seam (13) and cross seam (16), the upright surfaces of the two tips connected in the cross seam are flat parallel surfaces aligned vertically to the lengthways seam. These surfaces may be joined to each other by electric butt welding. A firm and effective cross seam is produced by simple means.</p> |
