PURPOSE:To reduce consumption of electrical current, by applying divided pulses to a two-split driving coil to actuate a step motor. CONSTITUTION:At the time of the front edge of a driving pulse, a heavy energizing pulse current is supplied between the terminals 12a, 12c of the first portion 10a of the driving coil of a step motor through a pre-driver 48 and a driver 50 of the second output circuit 22 to start the step driving of the step motor. The second output circuit is made of an amplifier of relatively high current consumption etc. At the time of the rear edge of the driving pulse, a small energizing pulse is supplied between the terminals 12a, 12b of the coil 10 through another pre-driver 52 and another driver 54 made of amplifiers of small power consumption. The coil 10 comprises portions 10a, 10b. Since switched driving is performed through the split driving coil, the current consumption of the step motor is reduced. |
