PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of desulfurization and desiliconization of molten cast iron, by introducing molten cast iron having been tapped from a blast furnace and having been removed from slag into a refining tank installed on the casting floor, and by blowing oxygen or air into the molten cast iron simultaneously with the continuous addition of a desulfurizing agent and a desiliconizing agent to the molten cast iron. CONSTITUTION:Molten cast iron having flowed out of a blast furnace 1 through a tap hole 2 is separated from slag 6 while passing through skimmers 4, 7. Then the molten cast iron is introduced to a refining tank 8, into which a desulfurizing agent and a desiliconizing agent 11 are charged through an electromagnetic hopper 10, a conveyor 12 by a charging mechanism 13. These agents 11 are mixed with the molten cast iron by oxygen or air blown into the tank 8 through a lance 14, thereby conducting desulfurization and desiliconization simultaneously. A large quantity of gas hereby produced is discharged through an exhaust vent 9, and the molten cast iron having been treated is carried out through a weir 16, a skimmer 17, a weir 18. The slag 15 is discharged by the skimmer 17 to the outside. |
