PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct parameters as automatically detected document information in an image read system consisting of an image reader and a controller. SOLUTION: This image read system detects a parameter (n) based on the result of pre-scan in a semiautomatic setting mode. A correction value (a) is used to correct the parameter (n) on a client machine 12. A corrected parameter n+a is returned to an image reader 10, and image input processing is executed based on this corrected parameter. Since correction can be performed based on the automatically detected parameter, a proper parameter can be simply and easily designated. The parameter can be corrected for each page.
