The crane is particularly of the type travelling in the lengthwise direction of a vehicle and over its loading platform, having a super-structure slewing on a vertical axis on the chassis and equipped with a horizontal jib along which a hoist crab travels. The jib (13) is fixed to a support (10, 11) adjustable in relation to the super-structure in a direction inclined to the slewing axis at an angle other than 90 deg. There can be a column (1) mounted on the super-structure, and to whose top end an inclined sleeve (10) is fixed, in which the support (11) slides.
