<p>The speci~ication de~cribes a transfer shset which can bs u~0d for transfer printing on a ubstrate. ~he transfer ~heet be rs a des$gn or pattern to be tran~S~rred and also bears r~g~stration mean~ adapte~ to adjust longitudinally and tr~n~versely the position of saLd transfer sheet relati~e to a second tran~er sheet brought edge-by-edge therewith in use so as to align said tranafer sheets in such a way that their respective designs or p~tterns are In registration with each other. A w~de transfer band c~n easily be made by joining plusality of ~uch tran~fer sheets, without need for a special wide printing machine. Transfer sheets may ~or example be fed side-by-side paxallel to onQ another and any staggaring of the pattern corrected by suitable adjustment of sheet tensioning rollers by detecting reference marks corresponding to the pattern. The sheets are then joined by stickinq, or could be directly used for transfer printing wi~hout being secured together. Alternatively, a ~heet is fed perpendicular to the band being formed, and cut into sections which are adjusted relative to the band by detecting reference marks, and joined to the band.</p> |
