<p>The laminating machine for applying two adhesive coated foils (4, 15) to opposite sides of a panel (13) uses two laminating rolls (11, 14) between which the panel is passed, to press the foils against the panel. The panel is pulled from these rolls by a further pair of rolls (18, 19) which have patterned surfaces. Instead of the second pair of rolls, two endless belts travelling around rollers may be used. These belts also may have patterned surfaces. The pattern consists of raised parallel ribs projecting from a base surface. These ribs may be across the surface at right angles or diagonal to the direction of travel. Alternatively the surface may carry herringbone ribs, or a pattern of dots. One belt, or roller, of each pair is driven.</p> |
