PURPOSE:To decrease Fresnel reflection and achieve the improvement in reliability and performance by affixing the dielectric film which has beforehand been coated with an adhesive agent on one end face to the end face of a plug. CONSTITUTION:A thin dielectric film 5 which has beforehand been coated with an adhesive agent 6 on one surface is affixed to the end face 4 of a plug 1. It is desirable to use a polyester film of, e.g., about 10mu in film thickness or the like for the above-mentioned dielectric film 5 and half-set-acrylic-base synthetic resin for the adhesive agent 6. With this constitution, the end face of an optical fiber 2 is always protected by the matching agent to form a cushion layer and therefore even in the state that the plugs 1, 1' are butted within a cylindrical sleeve (adapter) 3, the damaging of the optical fiber end faces does not occur. |
