PURPOSE:To achieve the positive operation with limited heating value through a high heat utilization rate by properly interposing a superconductive wire on the heater wire in such a manner as to be stranded as the switching element. CONSTITUTION:The thermal type permanent current switch is composed of a superconductive wire 1, a reel frame 2, a heater wire 3 an adiabatic layer 4, an electrically insulating tape 7 and an electric insulating thin plate 3. After the heater wire 3 is covered with the electrically insulating tape 7, a plurality of superconductive strands 1a are finally twisted. When the heater wire 3 generates heat, a heat current develops according to the temperature gradient of the heat. In this case, the strand 1a surrounding the heater wire 3 permits effective utilization of the heat generated from the heater wire 3 and reduction in the heater capacity thereby ensuring the positive action of the switch with a limited heating value. |
