PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent a shift in track even when recording and reproduction differ in tape speed, by bringing a head position after flyback time under the advanced control of either of heads arranged closely in a track direction. CONSTITUTION:For example, when a magnetic tape is reproduced in slow motion mode one fourth as fast as that in recording, rotary head 4a, i.e., either of rotary heads 4a and 4b movement-adjusted via bimorph plates 5a and 5b crossing the track direction at right angles being positioned at a slight interval and at the same height has its height position controlled via plate 5a and reproduction comes into effect along recording track 8 having changed in inclination substantially. Between this reproduction period Ta and the following flyback period Tf, the other head 4b has its height brought under advanced control via bimorph plate 5b and, after the flyback period, is shifted to a position where track 8 can be tracked, so that a shift in track, etc., can be prevented which results from an unresponding state due to adjustment of short period Tf. |
