PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored optical resin composition which excels in designing effect and is hard to cause writing and reading abnormalities and reduces deterioration of the resin by coloring. SOLUTION: The optical molding resin composition comprises a a thermoplastic resin (component A) and a coloring agent (component B) with an alkali metal content of component B of <50 ppm in an amount of the coloring agent containing toluene insolubles of <1% of component B of 0.001-5.0 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. component A.
