PURPOSE:To make it possible to adjust memory capacity by making possible to load various recording media, differing track pitch, on a magnetic disk unit. CONSTITUTION:Data module 1 equipped with head 11 and head carriage 12 is provided with projection part 3 for track pitch display, which is detected by detection part 5 and decision control circuit 6 decides the propriety of the track pitch, so that when the track pitch is proper, data module 1 will be loaded by loading mechanism 4 and loading motor 8. Electric signals can be trasferred by coupling connectors 9 and 10 with each other. Reading circuit 15, writing circuit 16 and servo circuit 14 have internal circuits corresponding to track pitches and on the basis of the outpt of decision control circuit 6, change-over circuits 17-19 connect an internal circuit corresponding to the track pitch of the data module by switching, so that read/write control and head-positioning control can be exercised with accuracy. |
