PURPOSE:To provide recording liquid for ink jet, which has good recording and discharge characteristics and produces distinct printed image having good water resistance and weathering resistance, by a method wherein a specified cpd. is incorporated into water. CONSTITUTION:There is obtained recording liquid by incorporating 1-15wt% of a cpd. of formula I [wherein X is -CH=,-CH=CH-, -CH=CH-NH-,-CH= CH-CH=; q is (substd.) indolyl, indolinylidene, benzothiazolyl, phenyl, indolinyl] such as the cpd. of formula II into water or water in admixture with a water- soluble org. solvent such as an alcohol. When liquid droplets are electrically charged and used, it is preferred to use the recording liquid having a specific resistance of 10<-3>- 10<11>OMEGAcm. |
