New N-acyl-aniline derivs. are cpds. of formula (I): R1 is 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or halogen, R2 is H, 1-3C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or halogen, R3 is H, 1-3C alkyl or halogen and R4 is H or CH3, the total number of C-atoms in R1-R4 is is not >8; X is -CH2- or -CHNCH3)-; R5 is -COOCH3, -COOC2H5 or -CH2OCH3; and R6 is H or CH3. (I) are microbicides with a spectrum of activity particularly suitable for the protection of crop plants. Esp. they are useful as fungicides against phytopathogenic fungi. They have systemic activity, and are also suitable for applicn. as dressings to seed or cuttings.
