<p>The housing of the suction nozzle of an industrial vacuum cleaner has a cover of synthetic material in the socket of which, a sleeve is inserted to form the rotary hinge of the cranked stub joining the connection to the suction pipe. The sleeve has a nylon bearing for the stub and a spring-loaded locking ring. A number of mutually offset bearing shells of semi-circular cross-section are spaced out along the housing for a cranked shaft operated by an adjusting knob. This regulates the height of the inlet relatively to the running wheels. Between the interchangeable front bristle or rubber rail inserts and the running wheels a space is left for suction along the edges of the housing and the wheels prevent lateral displacement of the inserts. The suction nozzle ensures proper cleaning of the floor up to the wall and whilst being uncomplicated in its design it overcomes the problem of excessive wear on the hinge connection.</p> |
