CELL FOR SODIUM PURIFICATION, AND TREATING METHOD OF RADIOACTIVE SODIUM WASTE USING THE CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell for sodium purification for purifying contaminated sodium by electrolytic purification, and to provide a treating method of radioactive sodium waste using this. SOLUTION: A flange-like flange 3 is mounted to an upper end of opening of a bottomed cylindricalβ-alumina pipe 1 via an insulation ring 2, and an electrode 4 for sealing the opening is mounted to the upper part of the insulation ring 2. A spacer 5 is extended downward of this electrode 4 and a space formed between the spacer 5, and theβ-alumina pipe 1 is made to a sodium chamber 6. The sodium, subjected to an electrolytic processing using this cell 10, is turned into a sodium compound in a reactor. Thereafter, the sodium compound thus obtained is turned into a solid or liquid form. Then, the sodium compound is subjected to solidification treatment or is stored and kept.
