PURPOSE:To prevent the wear of the head by means of the protective film so arranged between the thermal head and the transfer tape as to be moved relative to the thermal head at a speed lower than the relative speed between the thermal head and the transfer tape. CONSTITUTION:The thermal printer is composed of the thermal head 1, the transfer tape 6 and the like. An endless protective tape is provided between the thermal head 1 of the printer and the transfer tape 6 is provided in such a manner as to contact the head 1 looped around two guide rollers 32 and 33 and the drive roller 34. The protective film is lower in the relative speed with the thermal head 1 than that between the transfer tape 6 and the thermal head 1. The film 29 is made of a heatproof film such as heat proof plastic film. This prevents stain, wear and the like of the head 1 checking the inferior printing quality. |
