Processing machine for parts of furniture - has computerised numerical control for movement of workpiece carriage and for job stages

The processing machine has its workpiece carriage (5) moving reciprocably from one side (E1) of the job table (13) to the other (E2). The processing units (7, 23) are actuated under computer program control in both directions of carriage movement so that at least one furniture part is machined during the forward the return strokes of the carriage. If several parts are machined consecutively then the control program is designed so that the job stages are executed in reverse order on the return stroke as compared to the forward stroke. The job table is long enough to hold at least two parts one behind the other in the direction of carriage movement.
