The broad band transmission system for remote control etc., has a transmitter and receiver at each end station and a number of relay stations between also with receivers and transmitters. The channels are modulated, using oscillators at each station. At one end station is a frequency-stabilised oscillator connected to a converter for the set of channels. The oscillator is also connected to a further converter with a band-pass filter connected to the receiver. An attenuator reduces the signals modulated by the oscillator, at the first converter. At the relay stations and the other end station are voltage-controlled oscillators for the converters which follow the signals received from the frequency-stabilised oscillator. At the other end station, the signals modulated by the voltage-controlled oscillator are attenuated.
