The assembly element includes a part (9) displaceably fixed in a housing (8) fixed in the cupboard as wall as an angle gearing also mounted in the housing (8) so that its driving pinion (14) positively interacts with an arm (9a) of the assembly part (9) designed as a gear rod. A locking device is also provided in the housing (8) so as to lock the displacement of the assembly part (9) which can be achieved where the drive pinion (14) is axially displaceable against spring force (26) in a bore (38) in the housing. On axial displacement of the pinion the locking cogs (47) on the outer perimeter of the pinion can be brought out of engagement with the cogs (24) fixed on the housing (8). The housing now remains the same and only the assembly part (9) need be exchanged according to the requirements. The housing can be used to hang up the cupboard or as a spacer as required.
