<p>Machine consists of a frame carrying two rolls sepd. by a gap and driven in opposite directions and the electrode which is to be spark eroded to its final desired size is fed through the roll gap. A voltage is created between the electrode and the two rolls to cause the required erosion. When the electrode is round, it is pref. rotated while it is driven through the roll gap; but electrodes with a rectangular or square cross-section are pref. fed vertically through the roll gap without being rotated. Used when drilling e.g. numerous holes using electrodes with a cross-section below 0.1 mm, the electrode must possess an accurate size, which is normally achieved via a grinding machine. The invention provides a portable machine which can be placed on the worktable of a spark erosion machine for dressing the electrodes.</p> |
