PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space-saving, well-functioning wheel suspension for an automobile by improving a wheel suspension of the type provided with a transversely disposed spring damper unit cooperating with the wheel support of a wheel opposite thereto via a lever and link members. SOLUTION: A transversely disposed spring damper unit 10 and a lever 18 which is rotatable about a vertical or tilted axis B-B are provided on the side of each wheel 6. The lever 18 engages the spring damper units 10 and 43 at a first lever section 19 and is connected to the wheel support 8 of the wheel 6 at a second lever section 20 and a first link member 22 and is also connected to a stabilizer 24 at a third lever section 21 and a second link member 23.
