PURPOSE:To accomplish simple recording without causing nozzle clogging dispensing with ink deflection means by projecting above the ink liquid level the top of the piezoelectric element stretched by the application of voltage to contact ink with the recording material. CONSTITUTION:The image signal generator 6 selectively provides the signal current to the plate 4 corresponding to the image to be recorded so that the potential of the plate 4b is maintained at a given level only for a fixed time and a given voltage is applied between the electrode 4b and the plate 4a facing it to stretch the piezoelectric element 3. When the signal current is given for example, to the first and third plates 4b viewed from the left of the drawing, the piezoelectric element is stretched only for a fixed time projecting the top thereof above the liquid level of the insulating ink so that the insulating ink 2a on the top thereof is put on the recording material in contact therewith. As the voltage applied on the piezoelectric element 3 becomes less after a fixed time elapses, the piezoelectric element 3 reduces allowing the top thereof to enter the insulated ink 2. |
