摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for adjusting pixel resolving power at every pixel over the whole of a scanning line in an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: A variable resolving power transition and arrangement circuit (20) generates transition in the stream of video data (408) to make it possible to adjust pixel resolving power at every pixel using a system clock (400). Pixel data prescribles the transition position to a synthetic video clock (402) prescribing a pixel period. A converter (122) uses the value given to a system clock conversion generator (108) by the synthetic video clock (402) to convert the transition position to the synthetic video clock (402) to the position to the system clock (400). The resolving power of a pixel can be altered by altering this value during the synthetic video clock cycle (402). A synthetic video generator forms the value of the synthetic video clock (402) based on the system clock (400). Offset values formed from the value of the synthetic video clock (402) are combined to determine the transition position formed with respect to the system clock (400).
