PURPOSE:To enable the detection of a direction as well, by providing mixers which have a prescribed phase difference and are connected to waveguides which are divided from each other by a directional coupler. CONSTITUTION:The oscillation output of an oscillator 10 is divided into two portions by a directional coupler 13. The two portions are then synthesized by another directional coupler 14. The synthesized signal is transmitted from an antenna 15. Some of the oscillation output is applied as a local oscillation signal to diode mixers 11, 12 which are connected to two waveguides between the couplers 13, 14 and which have a phase difference of theta. According to this constitution, the phases of reception and reflection Doppler signals generated by the mixers 11, 12 are advanced or delayed by 2theta from each other depending on the approaching or moving-away of a target. The outputs of the mixers 11, 12 are processed by a phase discrimination circuit 19 to detect the direction of the target together with its velocity. |
