<p>The rapid d-a converter can be used also as an a-d converter with the aid of an external control logic. Such converter finds application in telecommunication systems for PCM techniques, or in digital memories for analog data. For the control of an N-bit digital analog converter is used a parallel N-bit control bus-bar, whose each conductor line is connected to on of N current sources, according to the prevailing logic condition. The current sources are connected to a common operational resistor, from which they can be disconnected during operation, the analog value, which corresponds to the binary number. The bus-bar conductor lines may be connected to different voltage sources, and the desired analog value may be attained by addition of the voltages.</p> |
