Each cell consists of a reagent chamber (2), a sample chamber (3), and a measuring chamber (4). The cells are made of a thermoplastic polymer and are arranged in a circular row so that all chambers (4) are horizontal and extend radially outwards from the circle, whereas the main axes of chambers (2,3) are vertical. The upper edge of each cell is provided with a tongue which extends sideways so it partly or completely covers the next cell, to which it is welded. When the circle of joined cells is centrifuged, the liqs. in chambers (2,3) flow into and are mixed in, chambers (4) in each cell. Used esp. in clinico-chemical analyses, where microcapsules of blood, serum, plasma, urine etc. must be rapidly analysed in automatic appts. using a centrifuge.
