PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display(LCD) device having high brightness and obtaining excellent display characteristics with respect to the LCD device to be used for a television receiver, a monitor or the like, a substrate for the LCD device used for the same and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The substrate for the LCD device is a color filter substrate 6 to hold a liquid crystal LC with negative dielectric anisotropy together with an array substrate 4 in between and is constructed so as to make color filters R, G, B be formed on a glass substrate 8 and to make a protrusion 2 and an auxiliary protrusion 16 formed on a common electrode 12 existing on the color filters R, G, B and controlling alignment of the liquid crystal LC have cross-sectional shapes different with each other. |
