摘要 PURPOSE:In the production of title compound by the catalytic gas phase reaction between acetaldehyde, formaldehyde and ammonia, the use of a specific catalyst, which is readily obtained from silica-alumina and silver nitrate, increases the reaction yield at a small ratio of the starting materials. CONSTITUTION:Silica-alumina is impregnated with silver nitrate, the excess water is removed by evaporation, the residue is dried and calcined at 400-650 deg.C to prepare the reaction catalyst. The gas-phase reaction between acetaldehyde, formaldehyde and ammonia is effected in the presence of the above catalyst at 300- 550 deg.C wherein the molar ratio of acetaldehyde/formaldehyde ranges 3/1-1/1 to form the title compound. The content of silver in the above catalyst is 0.5-15, preferably 1.0-10wt%, calculated as silver oxide. The amount of ammonia is 1-3mol per mole of the acetaldehyde and formaldehyde combined.
