The seat belt pretensioner initiation suppressor for a motor vehicle has a seatbelt locking state sensor (7) mounted on the buckle (3) and connected to the pyrotechnic initiator (4). The sensor is connected to the computer (5) to provide a signal for the absence of belt locking, to prevent operation of the air bag.
