High density AgO, useful for manufacturing battery, was prepd. by oxidation of Ag2O. AThus, the mixture of Ag2O and AgO(as seed) (wt. ratio = 1:3) in 20% alkali aqueous soln. was refluxed at 75 -90≦̸C for 140 - 150 hr under the introduction of 100 g/hr of O3. Ag2O was added simultaneously in the reaction mixture at regular intervals.
