<p>The paint composition comprises a carboxylate group-containing material, a phenyltin compound and a basic nonaromatic organometal oxide or hydroxide, the amount of said oxide and/or hydroxide being at least 75% of the stoichiometric amount relative to the carboxylate groups in the composition and otherwise available for reaction with the phenyltin compound.
<??>By the provision of the said oxide and/or hydroxide in the paint composition the undesirable formation of the free benzene by reaction of carboxylate with a phenyltin compound is inhibited. </p> |
