PURPOSE:To make it possible to install a detector even at a narrow place such as the joint of an oil pipeline by miniaturizing and simplifying its structure by bonding conductive rubber, obtained by mixing conductive powder into a non-polar polymer elastic body, to an insulating substrate and by providing electrodes to both the poles of the conductive rubber. CONSTITUTION:To obtain a detector, conductive rubber 2, a mixture of a non- polar polymer elastic body and conductive powder, is bonded to insulating substrate 3 and electrodes 1a and 1b are fitted to both the poles of the above-mentioned rubber 2. As a rubber material, silicone rubber is the best and nickel powder or artificial graphite is suitable for a conductive filler. Oil, etc., sticking to this detector is absorbed by conductive rubber 2 for swelling and as the volume rate of the above- mentioned filler decreases apparently, the electric resistance value increases remarkably. This phenomenon is utilized to detect the oil, etc. Its structure is simplified and miniaturized and the extremely-versatile detector is realized which can be used in vapor phase and liquid phase and on the surface of water. |
