Inhibitors of mammalian collagenase

Mammalian collagenase is inhibited by compounds having the formula and salts thereof, wherein R1 is hydrogen or alkanoyl of 2 to 10 carbon atoms; R2 is hydroxy, amino, or R3 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R4 is hydroxy, amino, arginine, leucine, glutamine, alanine or glycine; and m is 0 or an integer of 1 to 9.
