The roof structure comprises a ridge beam (1) and roofing plates (4, 9, 12) which are at least partly supported by the beam via a carrier clip (14-17) secured to the beam. The clip may have two arms (16) arranged to either side of the beam each carrying a plate. Each arm may have a hooked end (17) engaging a corresponding hook (13) on the plate. The clip may consist of a metal strip with hooked ends. The plate may have a bent-over longitudinal edge on one side and a correspondingly bent edge on the other for mutual engagement between adjoining plates.
