PURPOSE:To convert a change in specific gravity into an electrical ON-OFF signal by a simple structure, by holding the gas generated at a detection electrode in a detection portion of the detection electrode to form a gas phase and then breaking said gas phase by a float moving depending on the specific gravity of the electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A detection electrode 1 made of a metal is covered, except for its terminal detection portion, with an insulator 2 such as a synthetic resin or the like, put into an electrolyte 3, and connected through a lead wire 5 to the terminal of a storage battery of a low voltage other than the cell, into which the electrode 3 is inserted, via a display device such as a light emitting diode or the like. Furthermore, to the lower portion of the electrode 1, is provided a float which moves up and down by the specific gravity of the electrolyte 3. Thus, a gas phase 7 formed with gas at the terminal end of the detection electrode 1 is collapsed or formed by the up-and-down movement of the float. Accordingly, it is possible to display on the display device whether a current is flowing or not and, by such an arrangement, it is possible to electrically detect with ease the variation of the specific gravity of the electrolyte. |
