PURPOSE:To perform equal power and variable power imaging selectively, by selectively disposing a focusing light transmitter for variable power or divergent light transmitter for variable power before or after the focusing light transmitter for equal power. CONSTITUTION:A focusing light transmitter for variable power 5 is coaxially disposed in the front part of a focusing light transmitter for equal power 4. This transmitter 5, like the transmitter 4, lowers in the refractive index in a quadratic curve from the center to the outer circumference in radial direction, and possesses the same refractive index at each position in the axial direction. Rays of light alpha4, alpha5 emitted from the peak of an object 6 enter the transmitter 5 at incident angles theta4, theta5, and refracted more at the outside in the transmitter 5, and are emitted at exit angles theta4', theta5', thereby imaging a virtual image 6' at distance l2. This virtual image 6' is reduced in scale compared with the object 6, and it is imaged as a real image 6'' at distance l3, equal to distance l2, by means of the transmitter 4. Therefore, a reduced image is obtained at position of l3. Instead of this transmitter 5, when a divergent light transmitter for variable power is used, a magnified image may be obtained. |
