PURPOSE:To rapidly replace a plate cylinder by the reduced number of operators by a method wherein a truck equipped with a plate cylinder holding frame moving up and down is allowed to automatically run between a plate cylinder replacing position and a stand-by position where a new or old plate cylinder is mounted or on discharged from the truck. CONSTITUTION:A new plate cylinder is placed on the upper plate cylinder support part 2a of the plate cylinder holding frame 2 of a truck 1 present at a stand-by position. The truck 1 is moved to a plate cylinder replacing position and fixed by a fixing pin 9. The plate cylinder holding frame 2 rises by the operation of an operating panel and a lower plate cylinder support part 2b is faced to the opening part of the plate cylinder support part 20 of a main frame 10. When the printing of a previous item is finished, an old plate cylinder shaft is supported by the lower plate cylinder support part 2b of the holding frame and the plate cylinder holding frame 2 falls and the new plate cylinder (c) on the upper plate cylinder support part 2a is faced to the opening part of the plate cylinder support part 20 of a main frame 10. Thereafter, the whole hydraulic operating arm 12 is revolved toward a printing unit and the new plate cylinder (c) is placed in the plate cylinder support part 20 of the main frame 10. Subsequently, when the replacement of the plate cylinder is finished, the truck 1 having the old plate cylinder mounted thereon is returned to the stand-by position. |
