<p>The left and right turn indicator and reset mechanism is for road vehicles. The mechanism is based on the use of the drivers signalling button to directly operate an electrical switch and at the same time reset the second button to zero. Each button (1,2) is cross linked by a push rod (5,6) each driving one of a pair of parallel electrically insulating shafts (7,8) mounted either side of a sprung, centrally pivoted lever (20). A pin (17,18) on each shaft ensures that when one button is depressed the other is reset by the lever moving against the pin on its associated shaft. Each shaft carries a conducting ring (11,12) which, when depressed, shorts out a contact pair (15,16) to give the turn signal and is held in position by the contacts. Cancellation by the steering wheel (3) is by part rotation of a three arm lever (27) against the shaft ends.</p> |
