The opto electronic instrument measures the angles of the wheels of a motor vehicle. A numerical, display provides direct readout of the values such as inclination angle from measurements from a oscillating pendulum. A box (1) houses two identical optical elements which are located at right angles. The optical axis of one is parallel to the plane of the wheel on which the box is mounted. The other optical axis is perpendicular to the vehicle axis. Both optical elements have a frame (2) with coaxial pivots (3) between which a pendulum (5) pivots (4). A magnet (6) damps the pendulum oscillation and a scale is located on each pendulum to be illuminated by radiation from a lamp (14) at the interception of the axes. The radiation is reflected to windows where indicator lines indicate the respective angles.
|
