<p>A novel liquid polymer with terminal unsatn. has one of the structures of formula X-P - -COO-R1 -OOC-P -X(I); X-P- CO.N(R2)-R1-(R2).NCO-P -nX (II) ; X-P- COO-R5-OOC-P -nX (III) (where X is R3 OOC-); Y-P- N(R2)CO-R1-CO(R2)N.P -nY (IV); Y-P- N(R2)CO-NH-R1-NH-CO(R2)N-P -nY (V); Y-P- N(R2)-R5-(R2)N-P -nY (VI) (where Y is -N(R2) (R4); Z-P- OOC-R1-COO-P - Z (VII); Z-P- OOC-NH-R1-NH COO-P -nZ (VIII); Z-P-(O-R5-O-P -nZ (IX) (where Z is -OR4). In the formulae, P si the residue of homopolymers of butadiene, isoprene, chloroprene and isobutylene, or of copolymers of butadiene/styrene, butadiene/acrylonitrile, butadiene/isoprene or ethylene/1-butene, and the corresp. satd. residues; R1 is (cyclo) aliphatic or aromatic gp. contg. is not >=30 C and 0-2 ester links or 0-7 ether links; R2 is H or (cyclo) aliphatic or aromatic gp. contg. is not >12C; R3 is -CH2-CH(OH)-CH2-O-C(O)-C(R)=CH2; R4 is as R3 or -CO-C(R)=CH2); R5 is -CH2-CH(OH)-R1-CH(OH)-CH2-; or gp. of formula (X) or (XI); and R is H or Me and n is 1-4. The polymer can be incorporated into a photo-polymer compsn. which is dispersible in aq. detergent soln. but which after hardening, is not attached by alcohol based printing inks. The polymer is used for the prepn. of printing plates (e.g. offset or letterpress) which are flexible, elastic and resistant to abrasion and alcohol.</p> |
