Handloom has a pedal-operated heald-lifting system sited beneath the loom. The lift is effected by pulleys attached to a hardness, and a rope connecting the pedal-pulls to the heald frame. The effort of lifting is less demanding on the weaver than on a hand loom worked by overhead pulleys, making the work pleasanter and faster. The space above the loom is uncluttered, and warp insertion is easier. Pedal space is plentiful.
|
