The stacking machine has a number of strips (3) which are supplied from bobbins (5) mounted on a stand. The strips are fed through feed rollers which may be powered. The strips are maintained under tension in the jaws (9). The beam (10) is kept parallel to the shaft (8). The tensioning device is mounted on a trolley (20). The lever (14) is hinged to the plunger of the hydraulic jack (15) mounted on the trolley. The strips (3) are cut on the anvils (28) by punches (29) actuated by vertical jacks (30).
