The unit has a layered structure with a longitudinal beam (1) acting as a carrier for transversal arms. The arms have a retaining head (3) supporting a retaining unit (4). The arms are articulated in relation to a plane of translational mobility along the beam to adjust the position of the unit (4). The position is adjusted such that cubic measurements of the gripper unit are reduced in relation to extension surface covering a part. An independent claim is also included for a profile structure for forming a gripper unit.
