The device is for picking up spherical objects scattered on the ground, such as tennis balls on a court. It is a cylinder (1) made of light plastics material with a handle (2) at its upper extremity and a trap near its lower extremity (3). When a ball is pushed into the trap from the bottom it allows it to enter but prevents the balls falling out again. When full the apparatus is put on a stand, slightly inclined to the horizontal, so that the balls can easily be taken out of the handle end.
